ABSTRACT 

Library collection development invites portion of the budget allocation of the parent institution. An essential part of university libraries’ everyday life is analyzing their function and impact. In a university system the libraries’ major responsibility is to support study and research of its academic community by literature and information services up to an optimum extent. Being the research is one of the major activates of any university system; it is obvious that the research output invariably reflects the productivity of a given University.

ಜ್ಞಾನಪೀಠ `ಶಿಖರ'ದಲ್ಲಿ ಚಂದ್ರಶೇಖರ ಕಂಬಾರ

ಕನ್ನಡದ ಹಿರಿಯ ಕವಿ ಚಂದ್ರಶೇಖರ ಕಂಬಾರರಿಗೀಗ ಜ್ಞಾನಪೀಠ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಯ ಸಂಭ್ರಮ. ಹದಿಮೂರು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಅಂತರದ ನಂತರ ಕಂಬಾರರ ಮೂಲಕ ಕನ್ನಡಕ್ಕೆ ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಜ್ಞಾನಪೀಠ ದೊರೆಯುವುದರೊಂದಿಗೆ, ಕನ್ನಡದ `ಜ್ಞಾನಪೀಠ ಸಪ್ತರ್ಷಿ ಮಂಡಲ`ದ ಪುನರ‌್ರಚನೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಆ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ ಎಂಟಕ್ಕೇರಿದೆ. ಕನ್ನಡದ ಜ್ಞಾನಪೀಠಿಗಳದೀಗ `ಅಷ್ಟ ದಿಕ್ಪಾಲಕ` ಪಡೆ.
ಕವಿ ಮತ್ತು ಕವಿತೆ ಮುಖಾಮುಖಿಯಾಗಬೇಕು. ಕಾವ್ಯ ರಚನೆ ಅಂದ್ರೆ ಅದು ಏಕಾಂತದ ಸಂವಾದ, ಗುದ್ದಾಟ. ಇದರ ಅರಿವು ಕವಿಗೆ ಇರಬೇಕು. ನನ್ನ ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ಹಿಂಡಿ ಹೊರಬಂದಿದೆ ಎನ್ನಿಸಬೇಕು ಕವಿತೆ. ಅದು, ಆತ್ಮ ಹಿಂಡಿ ಬರಬೇಕು. ನೀರು ಕಡೆದರೆ ಬೆಣ್ಣೆ ಬರುತ್ತಲ್ಲ, ಹಾಗೆ. ಅದು ಹುಡುಗಿಯೊಂದಿಗಿನ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯಂತೆ ತೀರಾ ಖಾಸಗಿಯಾದುದು. ದೇವರ ಮುಂದೆಯೂ ಹೇಳಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗದ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯಂತಹದ್ದು`. ಇದು ಕಾವ್ಯದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಕಂಬಾರರ ನಿಲುವು.
